Abstract

At the mouth of the Ayung River, sedimentation often occurs, resulting in flooding in the upstream area. An in-depth understanding of discharge and flow is essential in sedimentation management in the estuary, as it can help to optimally regulate river water flow, identify water discharge from the wet and dry seasons, prevent excessive erosion and sedimentation, and maintain the sustainability of the ecosystem in the estuary. The NRECA model is used as a method to estimate discharge and flow from rainfall-runoff simulation models. This study aims to determine the amount of discharge and flow in the Ayung watershed that can be used in estuary management, especially to prevent uncontrolled discharge of flood discharge to the sea. Under wet season conditions (Q20%), it was found that the maximum discharge reached 32.09 m3/second in January, while the minimum discharge was 7.58 m3/second in June. Under dry season conditions (Q80%), the maximum discharge was 10.76 m3/second in January and the minimum discharge was 0.68 m3/second in June. Meanwhile, under normal conditions (Q50%), the maximum discharge is 22.84 m3/second in January and the minimum discharge is 1.74 m3/second in August.
